Olivia Robinson is a licensed private investigator.

Since 1982, her time-sensitive investigations have been used to help clients target and explore investment opportunities. She has identified potential acquisitions, positioned companies for sale, and helped to define strategies for hostile take-overs and corporate turnarounds.

For decades she has traced and profiled people, patterns and assets. Her ability to detect and document fraud, track and recover assets has led to the successful discovery and recovery from cases involving Ponzi schemes, complex financial fraud, insider trading, industry-wide fraud scams, global cybercrime, municipal fraud, identity theft, and hedge fund and investment scams. While most cases are domestic, she has helped clients on numerous assignments all over the world.

Background Intelligence, Inc. provides unbiased, independent information and actionable results using a variety of investigative techniques. She oversees a multidisciplinary team of investigators including forensic accountants, computer forensics professionals, and surveillance experts.

Ms. Robinson has lectured widely and written on the subject of mergers and acquisitions, competitive intelligence, fraud and white collar crime. She has been featured in many publications and media outlets.

She has held positions on the boards of the California Receivers Forum, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Association for Corporate Growth, the Association of Strategic Planning, and the Editorial Board of M&A Today, in addition to years of service on non-profit boards.
